Another Great Packit Gourmet Meal: ShepHErd's Cottage Pie!

I usually make my backpacking meals from grocery store foods. with the addition of some freeze dried meats, and home dried tomatoes. But sometimes its nice to have a reliable and convenient meal from a cottage industry backpacking food place. My favorite such company is Packit Gourmet. Their Big’Un Burrito is a great one, but the Sheperd’s Cottage Pie is now a favorite also. I added water to the pack of stew, and also to the pack of mashed potatoes, and waited 10 minutes. Nam said the beef stew looked like dog food, and it kind of did, but it tasted wonderful!

Sheperd’s Cottage Pie runs $13.99 at Packit Gourmet. It has the advantage over Big’Un Burrito is that its self contained, meaning that you don’t have to bring any tortillas , although that is not really a problem.
